About 2nines5
That's not an insult. Nobody told them the rules.
After 10 years working inside the FX and CFD industry, I've spoken to a lot of retail traders.
Most of them have one thing in common: they're confident they'll figure it out. Some already think they have.
The data tells a different story. FX and CFD brokerages structurally profit from retail losses. That's not an accident — it's a reality most traders never stop to examine.
The problem usually isn't strategy. It's that most people sit down to play a game without understanding what game they're actually playing. The rules, the mechanics, the different versions of it — nobody explained any of that.
That's what 2nines5 is for.
Not tips. Not signals. Not a system that'll make you rich.
Just a clear explanation of what the game is, how it works, and what you're actually doing when you trade gold — whether you're trading XAU/USD through a spot broker, or GC and MGC futures on the CME.
I built this because gold trading specifically has always had my attention — and because I believe a retail trader who genuinely understands the market they're in is already ahead of most.
The name
2nines5 is named for 995 — the minimum gold purity required for LBMA Good Delivery status. It's the benchmark the physical gold market is built on. That felt like a fitting name for a site built on getting the foundations right.
Structured modules covering the foundations of gold trading, then splitting into separate paths for spot (XAU/USD) and futures (GC/MGC) traders.
A pre-market cheatsheet — the key numbers, events, and context a gold trader wants to check before the session opens.
An honest breakdown of the platforms retail traders actually use to trade gold — broker types, instrument differences, what to look for.
Plain-English definitions for the terms that get thrown around in gold and FX markets. No assumed knowledge.
2nines5 is educational content only. Nothing here is financial advice or a recommendation to trade any instrument.
